occurrence trigger

"Under an occurrence policy, coverage is invoked or triggered if a loss occurs during the policy period. Liability is assigned to the policy in force at the time of a covered loss, though an event or condition that eventually produces the loss may have existed at an earlier time when a different policy was in force. (Note that many policies now have prior acts exclusion which limit coverage for work done prior to the policy period)"
